College is a time of growth. Students are making a major life change. It is common for difficulties to arise during this period of life. Students seek counseling for a range of concerns that may include academic pressures, depression, anxiety & stress, relationship problems, low self-esteem, sexual assault, eating problems, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, and many other issues. Sometimes students just want to have a sounding board to understand themselves better. The Counseling Center can be a safe, confidential environment for students to explore values, coping styles, strengths, and how to best deal with things that can, at times, seem to be too much.
The Mars Hill University Counseling Center is a place where students can talk through their problems and/or concerns in a private, confidential setting with a trained professional. Available services include individual, couples, and group counseling; case management; crisis intervention; workshops; referral to community resources; and a variety of outreach and consultation services.
Pastoral counseling is available through the Chaplain’s office, (828) 689-1299, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Career counseling is available through the Career Center. Contact the Career Center at (828) 689-1655 or email@example.com.
