We look forward to seeing you become a Mars Hill Lion! Roar is a multi-day orientation program that all new students participate in prior to the beginning of their first semester at Mars Hill University. You’ll get acquainted with the campus, meet friends, find out about opportunities to get involved, meet with your instructor and First Year Mentor for your First Year Seminar class, and participate in continuing and new traditions.
Some highlights include:
March Through the Arch (Fall)
Students will ceremonially march through the Mars Hill College arch onto the
Upper Quad where they will meet with their families for the family send-off.
Breakfast with President Floyd (Spring)
Spend some time in a casual setting with MHU President Tony Floyd.
Tacos & Tie Dye
Enjoy a taco snack while tie-dying a traditional first-year MHU t-shirt. Lawn
games will be set up along with music.
True North
Students will participate in an MHU Tradition Event hosted by Mars Hill
Chaplain Rev. Stephanie McLeskey.
Traditional Hat Signing
As an MHU Tradition Event, students will receive an MHU hat to be signed by
fellow students, faculty & staff.
