The current exhibition at the Rural Heritage Museum at Mars Hill University is "A Cabinet of Curiosities: Selections From the Permanent Collection." The exhibit, which will be displayed through December 30, 2018, features late 19th century objects once used by Appalachian homesteaders in Western North Carolina.
