Summer School

Mars Hill University Summer School offers online summer classes that are geared for both traditional and professional populations, allowing students to catch up, continue making progress or get ahead during the summer months.  We have Short Term and Full Term choices available. Current students, please reach out to your advisor to enroll. Incoming students, please reach out to your admissions counselor.

We are able to offer a special rate for summer school for all students.  Summer school courses in any term will be $330/credit hour.

New this summer! Two AI courses open to everyone! Complete both and earn a credential.

  • DA 110: AI Essentials in the Workplace
    Provides foundational AI literacy and practical workforce skills that apply across disciplines. Learn to use AI responsibly and effectively in professional settings.Learn core AI concepts such as generative AI, machine learning fundamentals, effective prompt design, and flexible, industry-specific modules.
  • DA120: AI Integrity & Ethics
    Helps students develop the ethical judgment, critical thinking, and professional responsibility necessary to navigate the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence across industries. As AI systems increasingly influence decision-making in business, healthcare, education, government, and scientific research, graduates must understand not only how to use AI tools, but how to evaluate their risks, limitations, and societal impact.

Term 1:  May 26 – June 27  (online courses)

  • ENG 111 College Composition I
  • KIN 111  Transforming Health
  • HIS 223 US to 1865
  • SPA 111 Spanish 1
  • BA 220  Principles of Statistics
  • NS 111 Principles of Bio
  • MTH 107 Finite Math

Term 2:  June 29- August 1 (seated courses, on-campus housing available for this term)
Room cost: $986, Meal plans are available but not required

Courses include:

  • Online:
    • AHS 122 Medical Terminology
    • ECO 222 Principles of Econ-Macro
  • In-person:
    • ART 126  Digital Photography  (This course open to incoming students)
    • GEO 221 World Geography    (This course open to incoming students)
    • PSY 300 Positive Psychology  (This course open to incoming students)

Term 3:  August 3- August 21 (online)

Summer Programming

During the summer months, we also offer summer programs like the MHU Launch Program.
Additionally, there are many summer camp opportunities available on our campus for people of all ages and interests!

Financial aid for summer school may be available.  To discuss your eligibility, please be sure you have completed your FAFSA and contact your Financial Aid counselor.

Traditional Undergraduate Students

  • Take Courses with your regular professors and earn credits with no transfer hassle
  • Earn hours to remain academically or athletically eligible
  • Take a needed course you have been unable to get at other times, or GET AHEAD! 

Summer School is divided into five-week terms and includes both short and full term courses in online formats, and one term that includes seated classes on campus. Summer School courses are open to all Mars Hill students. You will register for classes through Self-Service after confirming with your advisor. Some scholarships may be available.

AGS Students

You can begin a degree program over the summer. Continuing to take classes over the summer also will help you make progress toward your degree.

If you are a new student looking to start a degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Psychology or Social Work, apply today. We will help you through the process from there!
