Master of Management

The Master of Management (M.M.) degree prepares students with knowledge, skills, and experience to effectively contribute to the management of organizations and enterprises. This graduate program will prepare students to successfully launch or enhance a career that is meaningful to them within the context of developing a personal brand and attention to career management. Students will engage in projects that will help them to understand and promote regional economic prosperity. The M.M. program will also prepare students to embrace challenges and complexities of ethical leadership within the context of contributing to healthy organizations. Learning together as a cohort, students take all courses together with an individualized internship. Team-based projects will be a part of most classes.

The Master of Management degree is different than an M.B.A. degree.  M.M. and M.B.A. programs both offer comprehensive study of the functional areas of business (management, marketing, finance, economics, accounting) and prepare students for leadership roles in organizations. Our M.M. is different than a typical M.B.A. program because of its focus on career development and discernment. We want to help you launch/re-launch/re-direct/change your career path.  The M.M. has outcomes that focus on both those hard skills and on the soft skills that employers demand (e.g., ability to work with people/on teams, emotional intelligence, habits of the mind).

Recent graduates who have attended Mars Hill University or other institutions will find a home in our seated graduate program.  We welcome majors from any discipline. The graduate degree is designed as a one-year learning cohort model, so you to move through the coursework together. This allows you to build strong relationships with your peers  and faculty members.  The experience will be enhanced by the internships and residential life you will have on campus.

The MM Program at Mars Hill University provides an excellent opportunity to continue your education by earning a graduate degree right out of undergrad without needing years of professional experience like other MBA programs. This program gave me an individualized, hands-on learning experience with professors that truly care about my professional development. Since the cohort is smaller, I was able to form great relationships with my professors and classmates that I would not have experienced in larger graduate programs. The internship experience in this program was a great way to build up my resume and prepare myself to enter a real work environment. I currently work as a Product Data Specialist for HM Wallace Supply.com, an e-commerce kitchen, bath and plumbing supply company in Atlanta, GA. My primary role involves analyzing, mapping, curating, and verifying product data for products on our e-commerce website.
