Mars Hill University will host its annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament during Homecoming Weekend, Friday, October 20th. The tournament will be hosted at Maggie Valley Club and Resort with registration beginning at 8am. Following a box lunch provided by Twisted Laurel, tee time will be at 11am. This annual tournament benefits the Mars Hill University Athletic department. The athletic department will also receive the proceeds from a raffle for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play a round of golf at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Three winners will be drawn to accompany Mr. Skipper Lancaster, the sponsor of the trip. Lancaster will cover the cost of lodging, golf, carts, and one meal a day. Winners will be responsible for their own travel. Akron is 508 miles from Asheville. Should anyone desire to fly to Akron, Ohio, Firestone CC will pick up and return winners to the airport. Tips for this shuttle are customary. Tickets for the raffle are being sold now. Ticket prices are as follows:

  • 1 ticket $10 
  • 3 tickets $25 
  • 8 tickets $50 
  • 20 tickets $100
