MHU Gospel Choir

The Mars Hill University Gospel Choir consist of students of MHU who have a shared passion for gospel music, and community building. They are  regionally sought after, and have headlined many major events in the greater Asheville, North Carolina area.

The MHU Gospel Choir was founded by the former Director of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion along with two students, Mr. Stephen Blount and Ms. Patricia Mathes in 2014.  Since that time, the choir has grown from an ensemble to a full voice choir.  We are so proud of the accomplishments of the choir and how they represent the mission of our university.

If you are interested in having the gospel choir sing at your event, please contact Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Jonathan McCoy at jonathan_mccoy@mhu.edu or the staff director, Mr. Stephen Blount at  StephenBlount2@mhu.edu.

While the MHU Gospel Choir does not charge a specific honorarium, the choir will appreciate any donations to assist in the cost for transportation, musicians, and equipment.
