We’re so excited to meet you!
Congratulations on deciding to join our Mars Hill University community! We can’t wait to have you on campus soon.
All incoming students that live on campus for the first time reside on First-year hill. First-year hill is home to the following residence halls: Gibson, Laurel, Myers, and Turner Hall.
The residence halls are staffed with Resident Advisors (RAs), who are student leaders specifically trained to support the first-year experience of MHU students.
Every residence hall on First-Year Hill includes lounge space for hanging out or studying and a variety of traditional-style resident rooms. The majority of first-year rooms are double-occupancy rooms to promote great connections among residents. Living on campus also means you’ll have many free amenities, which you can learn more about here.
Save the Date: First-Year Move-in is Friday, August 21, 2026
Housing Selection for the 2026-27 Academic Year
If you haven’t already, please submit your $250 Advance Tuition Payment so that we know to expect you.
Watch your email for your login information for the Mars Hill Housing Portal. This is where you will apply for housing and connect with roommate(s) for the academic year. You’ll receive more communications (including instructions) via email when the time comes to apply. The Housing Portal is also where you can view your housing assignment anytime so you always know where you’ll be living. While you’re on campus for Lion Life, our friendly Residence Life staff will be around to help answer any questions you have about applying for housing. If you haven’t already, you can submit your housing application on the spot while you’re at Lion Life. This is a great time to find a roommate, too!
Rooms for new students are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. That means students who return their housing contracts (with $250 Advance Tuition Deposit) first will receive priority when housing assignments are made.
Pricing for the 2026–27 academic year for first-year residence halls is as follows and is billed per semester:
Gibson Hall, the only first-year residence hall without air conditioning, will be priced as follows:
*If you’re planning to be a commuter, the Housing Portal is where you’ll find your commuter application so we can accept (if approved) and process your exemption from on-campus housing. We’ll miss you in the residence halls if you commute, though, so we hope you choose to join us on campus!
