More Than 50 New Mars Hill University Students Get a Sneak Preview of College Life

Mars Hill University welcomed 57 new students on Saturday, April 28, 2018, for the first of four First Year Pre-Orientation days of the year. First Year Pre-Orientation, or FYPO, gives incoming students a chance to get a head-start on their college experience by introducing them to the campus community before the start of their first semester. The remaining FYPO events for students entering in fall 2018 are scheduled for June 2, June 30, and July 21.

Students meet their First Year Mentors, current Mars Hill students who provide support as new students get acclimated to the college experience. FYPO also gives students an overview of campus life, from the residential living experience to exploring options for on-campus dining. Mars Hill faculty are available to give students an overview of various academic disciplines and to assist with fine tuning fall semester class schedules.

FYPO also includes a track for parents and other family members, with sessions on Mars Hill’s academic programs, financial aid opportunities, and student success resources.
