Assistant Professor Keith Nesbitt joined the faculty of Mars Hill University in 2024 after extensive experience in bedside nursing. He holds Progressive Care Certification from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and still practices on Progressive Care, Stepdown and Medical-Surgical units. Keith’s clinical interests include: cardiac electrophysiology, infection control, hospice/palliative care and educating patients with chronic conditions.

Keith teaches in the core curriculum for Traditional, Prelicensure BSN students. Current courses include: Fundamentals of Health Promotion, Promoting Adult Health and leading MHU student nurses in their hospital clinical rotations.

Nursing is the crossroads of medicine and customer service; it is both an art and a science. Keith’s educational philosophy is to include elements of both the art and the science into his teaching so that MHU student nurses can be best prepared for the modern workforce.

Keith is a native of Weaverville, North Carolina, and currently resides in Asheville.
