Profile

A native of Asheville, Anne graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts. trained in costume construction. She worked in various costume shops, theme parks, and costume rental stores before opening her own costume creation business, operating it for 20 years. Her shop specialized in costumes for ballet and Irish step dance companies, Civil War reenactors, profesional clown preformers, and sci-fi enthusiasts. aAne also did custom sewing, espicaly for physically challenged folks.

As shop manager she maintains the department’s costume collection and instructs student in sewing and wardrobe maintenance. Anne also has worked as the costume shop manager for the Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre here on campus, and this summer worked with Asheville’s Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance production of “Cleopatra” as assistant to the costume designer.
