MHU Student Receives Criminal Justice Scholarship

Mars Hill University criminal justice major Nicola Shelton has been awarded a scholarship by the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association (NCSA) and North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU). Nicola is a senior from Asheville. She plans to attend law school after graduation, with a career goal to become an attorney. In addition to attending classes and holding down a full-time job, Nicola has a work-study position in the campus mailroom and is active in a student Bible study group.

The NCSA created the Criminal Justice Scholarship Program to assist students who are dependents of law enforcement officials or who are studying in the criminal justice field and express an interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
