In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Mars Hill University will move its face-to-face classes to online and remote learning for at least two weeks, beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. A decision on classes beyond that time will be made on or before April 3. This applies to all classes at the main Mars Hill campus and the Asheville Center for Adult and Graduate Studies. Classes which already are delivered online will continue as scheduled.
The physical campus will be closed, at least through Friday, April 3. A few university offices will remain open, but most will not be staffed in-person, as employees will work remotely.
At this time there are no confirmed COVID-19 cases at either Mars Hill University location.
The university previously extended its spring break by one week, to provide time to evaluate the situation and make plans for continuing to serve its students. Following guidance from the NCAA and the South Atlantic Conference, Mars Hill canceled the remainder of its spring athletics season.
