Mars Hill University To Co-Host Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit with Venture Asheville

Mars Hill University’s Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is the presenting sponsor for Venture Asheville’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit on Thursday, March 21, 2024. The one-day event will focus on the mindset and skills needed to lead and work in an entrepreneurial way in organizations of any size and type, including the nonprofit, government, academic, corporate, and philanthropy sectors.

Panels and other summit sessions will focus on entrepreneurial philanthropy, the entrepreneurial history of Asheville, entrepreneurial leadership in government and nonprofits, corporate entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship in higher education. Keynote speakers for the event are Virginia Bauman, a coach, community organizer, and veteran of multiple startups; Lizzie McKenna Cozart, regional development officer with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Justin Harlan, managing director of Tulsa Remote; and Ric Pratte, founder of AVL Digital Nomads.

Several Mars Hill students will participate as session moderators or volunteers. James Heinl, business professor and executive director for the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and Paul Romesburg, executive advisor to the center, will serve as panelists during sessions related to higher education and philanthropy.
