Return to Campus

Mars Hill University continues to develop plans for the 2020-21 school year. As we return to campus, guidelines and information will be shared here.

Return to Campus – Health & Safety

The following guidance is provided for all Mars Hill University employees, residential and commuter students. All parties are expected to become familiar with this guidance and adhere to its policies. MHU continues to assess campus needs in an effort to maintain the health and safety of our community. We will continue to communicate updates as they occur.

MHU has adopted the following policy in response to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health agency recommendations, and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and EEOC requirements:

  • The use of facemasks (worn properly) is required, when in public spaces or in close proximity with another individual.
  • In addition to the use of a face mask, the social distancing of at least six feet from any other person is essential whenever possible.
  • At the beginning of your day, prior to leaving your residence hall room or coming onto campus, each student is responsible for self-reporting temperature screening results and symptom check results or by self-checking and using a Symptom Tracker App. (Information about the Symptom Tracker App, temperature screening process, and locations will be provided.)
  • Frequently wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer.
  • Increase the cleaning and disinfecting of your personal and shared areas.
