Closing Checkout Check-List
Please observe and complete the following checklist before you leave for the extended Break:
- Take all valuables; computers, books, money, medications, clothing, gaming system, etc. you might need during the break
Why: Residence Hall entry is prohibited, unless your appeal has been approved.
- Close and lock all Doors and Windows
Why: This prevents the entry of non-university affiliated individuals.
- Leave your window shades down
Why: This prevents potential thieves from being able to see into your room.
- Turn out all lights
Why: This prevents the use of electricity when rooms/buildings are unoccupied.
- Unplug all electrical appliances, mini-fridges, etc.
Why: This prevents the use of electricity when rooms/buildings are unoccupied.
- Clean and throw trash away outside to the appropriate outside container
Why: This prevents the attraction of unwanted insects to your room as well as keeps a “musty” smell from developing.
- Take your keys and ID with you
Why: You will need them when you return from break.
- Turn your heat on a low setting
Why: This saves energy. If you have a Thermostat set it on 68 degrees.

- Tuesday December 22nd –Open from 9am to 11pm – mail pick-up/sorting from 8am-9am
- Wednesday December 23rd – Closed
- Thursday December 24th – Closed
- Friday December 25th – Closed
- Monday December 28th– Open from 9am to 11pm mail pick-up/sorting from 8am-9am
- Tuesday December 29th– Open from 9am to 11pm mail pick-up/sorting from 8am-9am
- Wednesday December 30th– Closed
- Thursday December 31st – Closed
- Friday January 1st– Closed
- Monday January 4th– Open 9am to 3pm resume regular business hours
