A Streetcar Named Desire follows Blanche DuBois, a fading Southern belle, who moves in with her sister Stella and her brutish husband Stanley in New Orleans. Tensions rise as Blanche’s past is revealed, leading to conflict and her eventual mental breakdown. The play explores themes of desire, class conflict, and mental illness. Written by Tennessee Williams, this play was awarded the 1948 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
