Scott Lowrey is a second-generation fine artist who grew up in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He received his M.F.A. from The Hope School of Fine Art at Indiana University with a concentration in printmaking and painting and his B.F.A. from The University of North Carolina-Asheville in painting and drawing. He has apprenticed in painting conservation with The International Fine Arts Conservancy and has taught painting, drawing, pastel and photography courses in Florence and Perugia, Italy; Volcano, Hawaii; Austin Pea State University, UNC-Asheville, and Warren Wilson College. His work is in numerous collections including The Asheville Art Museum, Furman University, Craven County Arts Council, and The Biltmore Estate.
