Dr. Kenneth Eggert is a vocal coach and collaborative pianist in the musical theatre program at MHU. He earned his D.M.A. in music composition at The University of Georgia, and his M.A. in Music Theory/Composition at Montclair State University. His compositions have been performed by the Partch Quartet, the Atlantic Brass Quintet, the Mostly Modern Ensemble, the Harry Partch Ensemble, and Dieter Flury on the compilation recording AERO: Contemporary Works for Flute, Navona Records. In addition, Dr. Eggert works as a professor of music theory and composition at Brevard College, and is the lead vocalist and music director for the Knoxville-based band The Fine Colombians: A Steely Dan Tribute. He performs locally with two other bands, Gotcha Groove and Tuxedo Junction, and is also the choir accompanist at First Baptist Church of Marshall. His first book, The Myth of Perfect Pitch: Fall Into the Mystery, is for sale on amazon.com and at the MHU bookstore.
