HVAC Mechanic

Classification: Service/Maintenance Personnel

Supervisor: Class Position reports directly to Maintenance Supervisor


  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks involving pumps, fans, heat exchangers, steam traps, valves and other HVAC equipment
  • Perform major corrective maintenance on assigned air handlers, fan coils, associated controls and other building systems
  • Analyze and repair reciprocating refrigeration equipment and systems
  • Analyze, calibrate and repair pneumatic and electric control circuits
  • Plan and implement equipment, control upgrades and new installations
  • Fabricate and install copper, steel and plastic pipe and tubing as needed
  • Maintain steam/hot water conversion systems
  • Advise and train lesser skilled mechanics
  • Perform overtime and “on-call” coverage as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Will be cross-trained to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
