Gill Bosonetto is the JMSON Nursing Student Advisor and Support Coordinator, a position funded by a HRSA grant to promote diversity and inclusion in the healthcare field.
Having lived and worked in three countries in southern Africa, and on both West and East Coasts of the U.S.A, Gill has both strong multicultural experience and an international perspective. She has worked in a variety of fields, including journalism, publishing, marketing, and customer care, but most recently was Director of Career Development at Mars Hill University for 15 years. That role included being a student mentor, course instructor and advisor, student work and internship supervisor, student success advocate, and community partner relationship coordinator. She is a qualified personality assessment coach, NACE-certified career coach, and HERS SI (Leadership in Higher Education) graduate.
Her teaching responsibilities included a character and ethics course in the General Education program, public speaking, and marketing in the Business and Communications departments, as well as a First Year Seminar introductory course for new students.
Gill is passionate about the opportunity for all students, especially those identified as ‘at risk’, to succeed in higher education and to pursue a life of meaningful work. She believes the JMSON offers students in Western North Carolina an extraordinary opportunity to obtain a well-rounded education, as well as to fulfill an increasingly important role in this community. She brings her diverse background and strong experience in higher education to directly support her work with nursing students in the JMSON.
