All interested faculty and staff are invited to attend a workshop on August 10, 10:30-2:30, led by David LaMotte. David will be leading us in learning how to talk with our students about purpose, calling, and vocation.
David has spoken at SLAM and Crossroads. He founded the nonprofit organization PEG Partners, through which we take students to Guatemala each May. He has keynoted peace conferences internationally, spoken to the PCUSA Mission to the United Nations, written books (one of which, Worldchanging 101, was used at MHU as a textbook by several classes a while back), and served on the AFSC Nobel Peace Prize nominating group. He has a school named for him in Guatemala (MHU students have done work there). He is deeply compassionate and down-to-earth, and strongly believes that we are all called not just toward some kind of work, but toward good work that nudges the world toward being a more just and peaceful place.
This workshop is part of the work of our NetVUE grant. Lunch is included – RSVP to Stephanie McLeskey at firstname.lastname@example.org
