Want to learn about Judaism (i.e., being Jewish)?
Want to attend a Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) service?
Want to attempt singing in Hebrew (while reading from right to left)? (We will attempt to do this!)
WHAT: First, a brief orientation to Reform Judaism (maybe we’ll even see someone read from the Torah). Then we’ll enjoy the Shabbat service (lots of singing). Lastly, we will enjoy the celebratory snacks and warm welcome of the congregation.
WHEN: Friday night November 8th 6-10pm (service is one hour)
WHERE: We’ll meet on campus and drive to Congregation Beth HaTephila in Asheville.
WHO: Everyone is welcome (Christian, Jew, Muslim, Wiccan, Unitarian Universalist, spiritual but not religious, not spiritual nor religious) Come join members of the Sociology and Religion & Philosophy Departments.
