The solo performance will give a brief history of the Women’s Suffrage movement and talk about how the fight for the right to vote played out in smaller communities like Washington County, TN.
Anne G’Fellers-Mason is the Executive Director of the Heritage Alliance of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. She has worked for the nonprofit for over ten years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in History and Theatre from Mars Hill University, a Master of Arts in History from ETSU, and a Master of Fine Arts in Playwriting from Hollins University. She puts her research and writing skills to use to craft original, history-based plays for the Heritage Alliance that are presented in schools, museums, and even in the Old Jonesborough Cemetery. When she’s not researching or writing history, she publishes short stories and novels that are set in the Appalachian region.
