Football vs. Wingate

The Mars Hill football team opens their 2023 campaign when they host the Wingate Bulldogs under the lights inside Meares Stadium on Thursday, September 7 with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

It will be a Blackout in the stadium, as it is encouraged to wear a black article of clothing.

Mars Hill won the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Mountain Division, posting a 7-3 (7-2 SAC) record last season.

The Lions return several All-SAC selections, including the defending SAC Defensive Player of the Year in Landon Honeycutt. Honeycutt led the SAC in tackles per game, averaging nine while recording 90 tackles on the year. He was sixth in the league with five sacks and added 15 tackles for loss.
