Dr. Kweilin Lucas is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Mars Hill University. Her research has been published in the American Journal of Criminal Justice, Victims & Offenders, Aggression and Violent Behavior, and the Journal of Criminal Justice Education. Her most recent publication examines deepfake pornography in the context of intimate partner abuse.
In this presentation, Dr. Lucas will discuss how deepfake technology poses significant risk for victims of domestic violence. The discussion will also highlight future policy, accounting for privacy issues, criminal and civil litigation, and the role that law enforcement officials and domestic violence advocates play in prevention.
