October 10 at 7pm
A Keep Fighting Campaign event. Guest A’nary Bellamy, motivational speaker, author, business owner, will tell her story of full-ride scholarship to suicidal teen mom, and how she overcame challenges to become a business owner and motivational speaker. Her life lesson: when life knocks you down, get up and keep fighting.
The Black Student Association is hosting the Keep Fighting Campaign here on campus. This campaign is similar to the Always Keep Fighting national depression/anxiety awareness campaign but we are also choosing to focus on domestic violence awareness. Gloves are being sold throughout the month of October, to be a representation of the everyday life struggles that one has to fight whether it be depression, anxiety, cancer, or battling an abusive relationship that could either be with a family member significant other or a substance. The glove is meant to be a symbol of strength and a motivator to help students’ faculty and staff to continue to push to become the best version of themselves. A portion of the proceeds will be going to support a charity of choice preferably one that helps to support others with these issues. The rest will be used to help fund more educational and informative events here on campus.
