Recreation & Sport Management Alumni

What can you do with a degree in RSM?

Here’s how some of our Recreation & Sport Management alumni are putting their degrees to use:

Laura Rice, class of 2013: Ecusta Trail – Executive Director

In 2009, the Friends of Ecusta Trail was formed with a singular mission: to repurpose the abandoned 19+ mile spur line that once serviced Brevard, North Carolina’s Ecusta Paper Mill and transform it into a multi-use greenway. The 1894-era railroad had previously supported early tourism, local timber industries, and the paper mill until rail service ceased entirely in 2002.

Zoe Rumley, class of 2024: Camp Ton-A-Wandah – Programs and Activities Director

Alex Brandt, class of 2014: San Francisco Giants – Account Executive Member sales

Cortez Huckleby, class of 2024: MHU Athletics – Director of Internal Operations

Kelly Jakaitis, class of 2022: Offshore Rooftop – Event Manager – Chicago, Illinois

Located at the far East end of Chicago’s Navy Pier, Offshore Rooftop offers unencumbered views of Lake Michigan and the city’s famed skyline not found anywhere else. Celebrated as the world’s largest rooftop (source: Guinness World Records), this stunning, multi-seasonal space also boasts a world-class kitchen and full-service bar.
