Master of Business Administration

The MBA at Mars Hill University is designed for working professionals who are ready to move up, without putting their career on hold. The 30-credit-hour (10-course) online MBA program features:

  • Flexible format
  • Built for working professionals
  • Focused on real-world leadership skills
  • Complete the MBA in less than 2 years
  • Test requirement (GMAT/GRE) is waived.

Students may join at any point in the degree cycle. This means they can begin in Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring. Classes are in a short-term format, one course at a time.

Master of Business Administration Application Checklist

1. Online Application.

2. Resume/CV.

3. Three recommendation letters are required. One letter must be from a professional educator and two must be from professional contacts who are familiar with you and your work ethic.

4. Professional Goals Statement.
May be emailed to sarah_burnette@mhu.edu in a PDF or Word document format.

In a 500–700 word, well-written statement, the candidate should discuss the following:

  • Why you want to enter the Mars Hill University Master of Busness Administration program
  • What you expect to contribute to the program (how will your employment background, education, work experiences, and/or strengths will enhance the program?)
  • What you expect to learn in the program
  • What are your current career responsibilities/career goals?
  • How the completion of the program will help you achieve these goals

5. Official college transcript(s) from all colleges or universities attended. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 recommended.

6. Excel Proficiency
Applicants to the online MBA program must demonstrate foundational proficiency in Microsoft Excel (or an equivalent spreadsheet application) prior to enrollment. Proficiency includes the ability to organize data, use basic formulas and functions, and create charts for analysis. Applicants may satisfy this requirement through one of the following:

  • Academic Coursework
    Completion of college-level coursework involving Excel or spreadsheet-based analysis, as evidenced on an official transcript.
  • Professional Experience
    A résumé or job description indicating regular use of Excel in a current or recent role.
  • Industry Credentials
    Completion of a recognized Excel certification or badge.
