The museum is temporarily closed.

Directions to the Rural Heritage Museum from downtown Asheville:

• Take Future I-26 West/ US 19/23 North, (exit 4A off of I-240 toward Woodfin/Weaverville).
• Go 16. 4 miles.
• Take the NC 213 exit, exit 11 — Mars Hill/Marshall.
• Turn left onto NC 213.
• Follow 213 for 1. 3 miles into Mars Hill.
• After the light at the top of the hill (Main Street), the museum is located one more block on the right. It is a 2 story rock building, just behind the brick gateway with the words “Mars Hill University.”

You can park anywhere on the surrounding streets or in the lots across the street, unless designated “no parking.”
