How to Apply for the RN to BSN Program

Step One:

Nursing students must first be accepted to the Mars Hill University through Adult and Graduate Studies (AGS). That application can be found here or by clicking the blue APPLY tab at the far right of any page of the full version of the MHU website. Submit all official transcripts and the $25.00 application fee to Adult and Graduate Studies. For more information, contact Malory Presley in the AGS office.

Step Two:

After acceptance to Mars Hill University through Adult and Graduate Studies, please complete and submit a Judge-McRae School of Nursing Application**

Judge-McRae School of Nursing Requirements for the RN to BSN Program:

  • GPA 2.5 (on a 4.0 point scale) OR 2.4 (on a 4.0 point scale) with 3+ years experience
  • Transcripts from all previous institutions (copies of officials will be obtained from AGS office)
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (copy from North Carolina Board of Nursing website)
  • Completed Medical Form (submit on first night of class)
  • Current Immunizations (submit documentation on first night of class)
  • Current CPR Card (submit on first night of class)
  • Liability Insurance (obtained through Mars Hill University on first night of class)
  • Clean Criminal Background Check for all states of residence for past 10 years (documentation from current employer with understanding that differing site may require additional background check)

*The Judge-McRae School of Nursing RN to BSN Program has been approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Applicant status with the discipline-specific accreditation body Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) will be requested upon entry of first RN to BSN class.

**Admission to Mars Hill University does not guarantee acceptance to the Judge-McRae School of Nursing RN to BSN Program.
