Spring Graduation Set for May 7

Mars Hill University will confer bachelor’s degrees on an expected 185 undergraduates and nine Master of Education graduates during graduation ceremonies May 7, 2016, at 9:30 am in Moore Auditorium.

Kathy MeachamKeynote speaker for the graduation will be Dr. Katharine Meacham (left), retiring professor of philosophy. Meacham came to Mars Hill in 1988, the first woman and the first non-Baptist to join the religion and philosophy department at the then-college.

Student speakers for the graduation are Ansley Beth Ricker, a biology major from Greeneville, TN, and Stacey Cutshall Bowen, a social work major from Alexander, NC, representing the Adult and Graduate Studies program.

Daniel Aaron Edwards, an English major from Fayetteville, NC, will bring the invocation. Special music will be provided by Ryan David Kisner, a music education major from Weaverville, NC, and the Mars Hill University Gospel Choir.

The commencement ceremony will be livestreamed by the MHU Athletics Department.
