From Mars Hill to the World: MHU Students Do Well at Southern Regional Model United Nations Competition

Srmun CompetitionSeveral Mars Hill University students brought back awards from the Southern Regional Model United Nations (SRMUN) Competition in Charlotte, NC (March 31 - April 3, 2016). The dozen competing MHU students formed two delegations, representing Germany and Ecuador. Delegates represented their nations' interests in NATO, General Assembly 4th, Gen. Assembly Plenary, Commission for Social Development, and the UN Development Program.

MHU student Drew Rosser won the award for "Best Delegate" for representing Germany at NATO. Two position papers, written by Madelyn Dix and Sydney Comer, received exceptional scores.

MHU delegates were: Kenny Anderson, Sydney Comer, Madelyn Dix, Jordon Edwards, Andrea Garber, Andria Holden, Kehlyn Jarvis, Arsidez Leon, Brandon Rice, Drew Rosser, Justin Sestan, and Hunter Weatherford.

The MHU faculty advisor was Heather Hawn, assistant professor of political science.
