Law Day at MHU

Lawday07Several students turned out for Law Day at Mars Hill University on Wednesday, September 28.

Attorneys Natalie Teague and James Kilbourne, Jr. spoke with students and answered their questions about the challenges and opportunities of the legal profession. The event was moderated by Dr. Heather Hawn, assistant professor of political science, who is also an attorney. She spoke with students about preparing for law school, choosing the right one, and applying successfully.

Bilingual in Spanish, Natalie Teague practices immigration law, representing clients across the world, from her own solo law firm in Asheville. She is an adjunct instructor in the MHU Political Science Department this fall. James Kilbourne, Jr. is the current vice president of the 28th Judicial District Bar of Buncombe County. His current practice include civil litigation, statutory consulting, and federal criminal defense. He was a Charter Member of the Cherokee Bar Association and served as a Prosecutor in Cherokee Tribal Court for nearly a decade.
