Among the works on display by Dana, North Carolina, artist Ian M Cage at Mars Hill University's Weizenblatt Gallery is one entitled "Absolute Nothing." It's part of his collection of "invisible work," which he says are "as infinite as the audience." Cage says that while the invisible works "at first seem merely an attempt at being clever, [they] hold much more intrigue for me" and are "able to communicate and contain the development of expansive concepts."

Cage's show, Core, runs through August 28, 2015, and includes a closing reception Thursday, August 27, from 6-8 p.m. Weizenblatt Gallery is in the university's Moore Fine Arts Building and is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.). Admission is free.

In addition to the invisible work, Core includes representative pieces from several of Cage's series, including the Inner Circle Series, the Nailhole Series, and Structural Abstractions.
