The 2014 Mars Hill New Music Festival will take place November 5, 6, and 7 on the campus of Mars Hill University. All events are free and open to the public.

Guest artists are composer Dr. Stephen Dankner and pianist Holly Roadfeldt.

On Wednesday, November 5, at 7:30 PM in Broyhill Chapel, Dr. Stephen Dankner will present a lecture and discussion on the influence of his Jewish faith on his compositions. **This is the night of Dr. Dankner's 70th birthday! A birthday cake and live musical surprise are planned!**

On Thursday, November 6, at 7:30 PM in Moore Auditorium there will be a full concert featuring the compositions of Stephen Dankner presented by MHU faculty, guests, and featured guest pianist Holly Roadfeldt.

Friday, November 7, at 11 AM, Dankner and Roadfeldt will discuss contemporary music with the MUS 410 class in Nash 101. However, all MHU students and faculty are welcome.

Friday, November 7, at 3 PM, Holly Roadfeldt will present a 50-minute lecture recital in Moore Auditorium consisting of contemporary compositions she has performed and premiered across the United States.

The 2012 Mars Hill New Music Festival was held March 30-31, 2012. Guest artists were Duo Fujin and composers Sarah Zipperer Gaskins and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach.

The 2013 Mars Hill New Music Festival was held April 19-20, 2013. Guest artist was Bryan Hooten.
