Deb Myers is the director of the Center for Community Engagement. She has more than 20 years of experience in higher education. In her various roles on college campuses, service has always been key. Most recently, Deb serves as Dean of Students at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. Before that position, Deb worked at Southern Oregon University where she established the school's Civic Engagement Program and worked with faculty to institutionalize Community-Based Learning. Deb's passion for service was instilled as a child. She became committed to working with foster children as a college student and has continued volunteer work with the foster and adoption community through her adult life. Deb has a master's degree from the University of Vermont and is working to finish her Ph.D. in Leadership for Higher Education from Capella University before the end of this year. At Mars Hill she is teaching in the General Education, Honors, and Women's Studies programs. Deb and her husband, Gar, have two sons, Zack (7) and Ben (3).

Cindy has been a part of Mars Hill University for the past 15 years, both as a student and as an administrative staff member. She is the longest-serving Bonner Scholar Program coordinator within the Bonner Foundation. Mars Hill University has been very instrumental in her life, and she always strives to give back to the college by working with students who are also trying to find their life path. Helping the students make connections and find ways to serve in the local communities is very important to her. She and her husband Bruce enjoy traveling and going to the movies. She also loves to read and try new recipes and enjoys visiting with her very bright grandson!

Caroline Twiggs grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from Berea College with a degree in Spanish. At her alma mater, she learned the value of service learning and empowered other students to become leaders through the Hispanic Outreach Project. She completed a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Georgia. Most recently, she hails from Wingate, North Carolina, where she was the director of the Office of Service at Wingate University. She is very excited about living in the mountains and returning to her Appalachian roots!
