Full-Time Temporary Housekeeper

(Permanent position possible after 90 days)
CLASSIFICATION: Service/Maintenance Personnel
SUPERVISOR: Position reports directly to Housekeeping Coordinator or Custodial Supervisor, as assigned

DUTIES: Performs cleaning and janitorial duties, including:

  • Cleaning and sanitizing all rest rooms including floors; washing walls, polishing metal work, cleaning sinks and mirrors
  • General cleaning of classrooms, offices, and other related areas
  • Dusting floors (dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum)
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork; cleaning chalkboards and/or white boards
  • Emptying and cleaning the waste receptacles; maintaining paper products and other supplies as needed. Filling dispensers as needed
  • Cleaning baseboards, windowsills, and walls in hallways as needed
  • Cleaning and sanitizing water fountains
  • Cleaning up after accidents or illnesses
  • Assisting with moving furniture and appliances
  • Performing other duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: Display neat, clean appearance; have transportation to and from work sites. Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, climb a stepladder, and reach above head, in order to perform duties listed above. Some custodial experience preferred.

Need knowledge of: Modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning, cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work, as well as, principles and practices of health and safety regulations.
