Advancement Services Associate

Reports To: Director of Alumni Relations
Status: Part-Time Staff, 30 hours/week

The Advancement Services Associate coordinates all activities relating to the university's advancement data base and provides database support and reports as needed.


  • Serves as the liaison to Blackbaud/Raisers Edge for database upgrades, system maintenance, clean-up and staff training opportunities.
  • Serves as the Administrator for the Raiser's Edge database.
  • Coordinates all reports and revisions for the Prospect Management System.
  • Develops a system/timetable for provision of requested staff reports.
  • Develops and maintains all capital campaign reports and Mars Hill Fund reports.
  • Works closely with Gift Services Associate to evaluate and implement the most efficient gift receipting processes- has thorough understanding of gift receipting.
  • Assumes gift receipting responsibilities in the absence of the Gift Services Associate.
  • In coordination with Director of Alumni Relations, creates and mails acknowledgement letters in response to changes in alumni activity- deaths, marriages, births, promotions, etc.
  • Submits data as collected from media sources to the Office of Communication which references alumni and friends connected to Mars Hill University.
  • Provides data to alumni directory vendor as needed.

Education/Skills Requirement:

  • Experience with databases, preferably Raiser's Edge.
  • Detail oriented and
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Experience with project management
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
